Echium Cottage Charm

Echium Cottage Charm have beautiful spikes of bloom in a pretty mix of blue, violet, pink or white shades. An irresistible magnet to attract bees to your garden, and a source of especially delicious honey for beekeepers. An old-world favourite for border planting and wildflower meadows, easy to grow and resilient.

Sow direct where they are to grow, or in trays of Yates Black Magic Seed Raising Mix. Cover with mix, water gently and keep moist but not wet. Transplant when large enough to handle. Choose a sunny, well-drained position. These plants will tolerate sandy or poor soil, but don’t like over-moist conditions. Remove spent flowers to encourage more blooms, and keep self-seeding under control. Not suitable for planting around grazing livestock – toxic to horses and ruminants. Plant height 50cm | Germination 14 – 21 days | Flowering 12 weeks
