Fargesia angustissima

Fargesia angustissima

Fargesia angustissima is an elegant, clump-forming evergreen bamboo prized for its slender, upright canes and narrow green foliage, making a refined, non-invasive choice for screening and hedging. It prefers a moisture-retentive, fertile, well-drained soil and does best with light shade and shelter from cold, drying winds. In time, expect an approximate mature height of around 34m with a natural clump width of about 1.52m, forming a dense, graceful hedge that responds well to light clipping.

Feeding time: spring Trimming time: spring for thinning out dead or weak culms; summer for light clipping to shape

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
